BR Standard Steam Models 2

No.92025 is one of the former Crosti-boilered class 9F freight locos, as evidenced by the lack of smoke deflectors, the odd-shaped smokebox, and the non-standard reversing rod arrangement. The ten 9Fs built new with Crosti boilers were not deemed a success, so were eventually rebuilt in this form. This model uses a Hornby 'Railroad' loco and tender chassis, with resin bodies courtesy of Golden Arrow Productions.

The Class 2 BR Standard 2-6-0s, were only slightly-disguised versions of Ivatt-designed locos previously built for the LMS. They had different boiler fittings and cabs than the LMS locos, and featured filled-in drop-down sections of the running plate ahead of the cylinders. No.78029, seen here, was built from a DJH kit.

No.82020 here has a Bachmann body, weathered at the factory, so when asked to build a new chassis for it, naturally the chassis and wheels had to be weathered to match.  At the time of construction, no chassis kit was available for this model, so I was asked to adapt a Comet 76XXX 'Mogul' chassis kit to fit.
